ORDER


1. The Government of Andhra Pradesh vide G.O. 1St read above, has notified the fee payable for reserving special numbers. As the fee for reserving of special numbers was amended in the year 2006, the Transport Commissioner, Andhra Pradesh, Vijayawada, vide his letter 2'd read above has proposed to enhance the fee for reservation of special numbers. In this regard, the Government, after careful examination of the matter, have considered the proposal and decided to amend Rule 81 of Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 for enhancing the fee for reservation of special numbers.

2. Accordingly the preliminary notification has been issued vide G.O. 3rd read above, and the same was published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette vide Part-I Extraordinary No.914, Dt.09.06.2022 (G 505) for the general information of the public as required by sub-section 212 of the said Act, duly calling the objections or suggestions within 15 days.

3. As no objections or suggestions are received from the public for consideration by the State Government before expiry of the period specified, in respect of said draft notification, Government have decided to publish the final notification in the matter.

4. Accordingly, the following notification will be published in the Extra-Ordinary Issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, Dated: 19.09.2022

FINAL NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 65 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 (Central Act 59 of 1988), the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby makes the following amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 issued in G.O.Ms, No.216 (Tr.II) Department, dated 7th August 1989 and published at pages 1-315 of the Rules Supplement of Part-1 of Extraordinary issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dated 25th August 1989, and amended from time to time, same having been published previously as required under sub-Section. (1) of section 212 of the said MV Act.

AMENDMENT

In Rule 81 of the said rules:

  • 1. for sub rule (3), the following sub rule shall be substituted, namely:-

    • "(3) The registering Authority may on payment made by owner of the vehicle reserve the special numbers within five thousand from the last number assigned in the serial order on the previous day

  • i. On payment of fee of Rs. 2,00,000 (Rupees two lakhs only) for number 9999.
  • ii. On payment of fee of Rs. 1,00,000 (Rupees one lakh only) for any one of the numbers 1, 9, 999.
  • iii. On payment of fee of Rs. 50,000 (Rupees fifty thousand only) for any one of the numbers 99, 3333, 4444, 5555, 6666, 7777.
  • iv. On payment of fee of Rs. 30,000 (Rupees thirty thousand only) for any one of the numbers 5, 6, 7, 333, 369, 555, 666, 777, 1111, 1116, 1234, 2277, 2345, 2727, 3339, 3366, 3456, 3699, 3939, 4455, 4545, 4599, 6669, 6789, 8055, 8888.
  • v. On payment of fee of Rs. 20,000 (Rupees twenty thousand only) for any one of the numbers 3, 111, 123, 234, 567,1188, 1818, 1899, 1999, 2222, 2799, 3636, 3999, 5678, 5999, 6999, 7999, 9009.
  • vi. On payment of fee of Rs. 15,000 (Rupees Fifteen thousand only) for any one of the numbers 11, 39, 55, 456, 459, 1112, 1212, 1989, 2259, 2525, 3335, 3969, 4512, 4777, 5445, 5559, 5589, 5599, 5666, 5859, 6786, 6969, 7779, 7979, 8889.
  • vii. On payment of fee of Rs. 10,000 (Rupees ten thousand only) for any one of the numbers 2, 4, 8, 18, 27, 36, 45, 77, 143, 222, 444, 786, 789, 909,1122, 1233, 1269, 1314, 1359, 2223, 2255, 2349, 3344, 3399, 3555,3789, 3888, 4446, 4567, 4959, 5679, 6699, 6777, 7799, 8899, 8999,9099.
  • viii. On payment of fee of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) for any one of the numbers other than those mentioned against the clauses (I) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) and (vii) above in respect of all vehicles except two wheelers for which a fee of Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees two thousand only) shall be charged.
  • ix. The application for reserving special numbers shall be permitted up to 1.00 pm on any working day on payment of fee online.
  • II. for sub rule (4), shall be omitted.
  • III. for sub rule (5), the following sub rule shall be substituted, namely,-

    • (5) If more than one applicant opts a particular registration number in a day, the reservation shall be made by way of e-bidding (auction). The e-bidding shall be opened from 2 pm to 4 pm on the same day for the applications received on that day up to 1 pm only. The number shall be allotted to the highest offer from those who have applied. If any applicant fails to offer e-bidding 2 pm to 4 pm on the same day, the fee shall be forfeited. The bid amount offered shall not be less than the fees referred to in sub rule (3) (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) (vi) (vii) and (viii), as the case may be.

  • IV. for sub rule (6), the following sub rule shall be substituted, namely:

    • (6) The number reserved under sub rules (3) (4) and (5) shall be allotted and registered to the vehicle as per the procedure prescribed in the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and rules made there under. If no applicant applies for the number or numbers, the said number or numbers shall be allotted in routine on the day when that number is going to be crossed.
